Tyson Beckford Talks To The London Evening Standard

Tyson Beckford is one beautiful man.. However, I must also say he can come off as a jerk at times.. Check out his arrogant interview with the London Evening Standrard:

So he must really love fashion? ‘It’s all BS,’ he says. ‘You have to recognise the fashion industry can be ugly, mean and shallow. One day you’re invisible, the next you’re fabulous.’ It’s a lesson he’s imparting to his girlfriend. ‘When I found her she was a regular girl. I helped place her with the right people, get her teeth cleaned, her body toned up,’ he says, framing himself as the Henry Higgins of fashion. ‘Everything changed and now everyone wants a piece of her. I hear people say, “You can do better than Tyson.” I’m like, “Really? Really?! I created her!”?’

Tyson grew up in upstate New York. ‘My friends were in gangs. Today a lot of them are dead or in jail. It was a horrible time and I vowed once I left I would never go back.’ It’s hard to believe but back then Tyson, who has African-Jamaican and Chinese ancestry, was skinny with buckteeth. But in his late teens a sudden growth spurt took him from 5ft 8in and 145lb to 6ft 1in and 185lb, and with his body sculpted by weights and athletics, he was soon picked up to be the face of a series of campaigns for Ralph Lauren.

He went on to play Toni Braxton’s love interest in the video for ‘Unbreak My Heart’, which saw him smouldering semi-naked — broad shoulders, strong jaw, unfeasibly immaculate abs — with her in the pool, the shower... ‘I’d always wanted to act, and that gave me a chance to show the world I wasn’t just a pretty model but that I could portray a character without speaking. I love silent film, Charlie Chaplin and The Artist. Inside, I was always acting. An actor playing the role of a male supermodel.’ And his cameo in Zoolander? ‘I was playing myself, which is one of the hardest things you can do.’

Next to acting, Tyson loves music (a passion he shares with his 13-year-old son Jordan, from a relationship with the stylist April Roomet) and motorsports, though for the moment he lacks sponsorship to race his drift cars. ‘Man,’ he sighs, ‘my cars are on bricks. It’s too expensive to do without funding. I don’t know what to do with myself...’ Does he love racing more than sex? ‘Mmmmm,’ he growls. ‘If I had to give up one of them, it would have to be the sex, even though I’ve got a hot girlfriend. She’ll understand,’ he smiles, shooting me a look that’s pure Blue Steel. ‘She’s a speed junkie, too. She rides on the back of the bike with me and we do wheelies, though we don’t let her agent know, or her mum. Sometimes I really gotta take her and go. You need that thrill.’

His life doesn’t seem short on thrills. ‘As a supermodel I go with the other supers round the world: Dubai one day, Paris the next. There’s partying. I’ll wake up in a hotel room and there are people all over the floor and I’m like, “Is this really happening?” One time in Miami I woke up in the bathtub.’ Working with female supers continues to be a rush. ‘I play second fiddle to them, but that’s fine. Linda’s great, and Elle, Naomi — though I’ve seen her dark side. They all like to have fun.’

Here is the picture of the girl he created.  But, she looks so real!!! I digress

Stay pretty and quiet Tyson.

Bobby Brown Sister Leolah Brown Sits Down With Dr. Drew

Bobby Brown sister Leolah Brown decided to sit down with Dr. Drew and blame a few people about Whitney Houston's death.

Later in the interview, the cousins of Bobbi Kristina decided to talk about Whitney Houston, Nick Gordon and brother Gary Houston.

I'm not surprised so many people are coming out and talking about Whitney Houston. It's unfortunate what people will do for fame and money.

Rihanna Talks "Birthday Cake" With Chris Brown

Rihanna called into the Ryan Seacrest show, and talked about her projects in the works and the collaboration she recently did with Chris Brown:

"I reached out to him about doing ‘Birthday Cake’ because that’s the only person that really — it made sense to do the record. Just as a musician, despite everything else, that was going to be the person,” she explained, seemingly referring to the infamous assault that resulted in community service and a restraining order for Brown. “You know I thought about rappers, and I’ve done that so many times, and the hottest R&B artist out right now is Chris Brown.”

"We did two records. One for my fans. One for his fans, and that way our fans can come together,” she told the radio host. “There shouldn’t be a divide. You know? It’s music, and it’s innocent.”

"This isn’t the first time Rihanna has shown her support for Brown. Last year, she told Esquire that it’s “incredible to see how he pulled out of it the way he did.”

“Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know? I really like the music he’s putting out. I’m a fan of his stuff. I’ve always been a fan. Obviously, I had some resentment toward him for a while, for obvious reasons. But I’ve put that behind me. It was taking up too much of my time. It was too much anger. I’m really excited to see the breakthrough he’s had in his career. I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have.”

What are your thoughts?

Nia Long & Larenz Tate Talk "Love Jones" 15 Years Later

Nia Long and Larenz Tate look back on their favorite memories from this beautifully made movie:

First impressions of the Love Jones script:

Nia Long: I was like, ‘I love this, and I want to do it.’ There was no question. There was also the excitement of, ‘Oh my gosh, my first leading role.’ And I think it shaped the rest of my career.

Larenz Tate: My initial thoughts were: ‘I’m digging this character.’ And, being from Chicago, I found things in the movie that reflected what I knew. I also liked the idea of [Darius] being smart, and intelligent. The guy’s a writer. He’s creative. He’s artistic. I hadn’t done that. The script spoke to me.

On the film’s impact:

Nia: I think Love Jones showed Black love in a way that we hadn’t seen on film in a very long time, specifically our generation of young people. It wasn’t the typical romantic comedy where it was about the jokes. I think the comedy was appreciated through the real-life situations. I also think it was pretty – the way it was shot, the lighting, the vibe of the movie was just very sexy and very cutting-edge. I think the film came out before its time, and I feel really lucky to be a part of something that has continued to resonate with people through all these years.

Larenz: I realized the impact when I would be walking somewhere and someone would be like, ‘Love Jones!’ I still meet women who say, ‘That’s in my DVD collection.’ I would talk to Nia, and she’d say, ‘That movie makes people go crazy.’ I also knew it was serious when brothers would come and say ‘Love Jones, man, that movie really helped me.’ It’s gotten so big that people do poetry Love Jones celebrations every single year, like Trekkies celebrate Star Trek.

Their favorite scenes:

Nia: The scene in the rain where Darius and Nina have their last kiss. It was so cold outside. I didn’t expect for the rain to be that cold, because it was movie rain. But then it really rained. So we had a combination of warm and cold rain. I went back into my trailer and I literally wrapped myself with plastic bags to try to stay warm. There was a big argument about that scene because everyone was like, ‘Black women don’t like to get their hair wet, and this is unrealistic.’ That’s not true. We can be in the moment. We’re not that concerned about our hair.

On the possibility of a sequel:

Nia: There’s talk about it. Larenz and I, if we do it, we’re going to do it right, and we’re gonna do it together. It’s a classic film and it has to be handled as such. And if these two characters can grow in a realistic way and we can do the film in a way that still gives people the feeling of ‘Wow, there’s still movies about Black love.’

Love Jones was one of the best movies I have ever seen.  Hope everyone got a chance to see it.

Brandy & Monica Interviewed By The Breakfast Club

Brandy and Monica stopped by the Breakfast club to promote their latest single " It All Belongs To Me".  They also talked about Whitney Houston, Monica's Stalker, Twitter and many other topics.

A few excerpts and video:

Monica on if the rumors were true that she and Brandy had issues in the past

Well, we didn’t know each other. What happened was they did they same thing that they do with rappers now or females-–they kind of create it first and we were young enough to just fall into the trap. So, we didn’t like each other. We didn’t communicate. We didn’t perform the record outside of the one time on the MTV awards. We never even wanted to be in each other’s presence for many years.

Let’s be clear though, at 16 and 17 that’s one thing, but at these ages that’s unacceptable. It’s too much to be done, and we can do more together than we can separately. So, we don’t feed into that now but back then-–you talking about 14 and a half years ago, yeah.

Brandy on ‘The Boy Is Mine’

It was interesting because I felt like the drama is what made me want to even do the song with her because we had this great song, Rodney and I, ‘The Boy Is Mine’ and I’m like “Oh, my God we should put Monica on this because it would shock people that we would even get on a song together. Since people are already putting us against each other this would be the perfect song.” It was basically built off of the drama that everybody else created, and we hadn’t even met each other.

Brandy on celebrating her birthday the day Whitney died:

I didn’t celebrate at all. It was just a really weird day. It was difficult for the both of us and I was actually happy that Monica was right there. We shared that moment together and it was just tough, very tough and it’s still tough. It comes in waves.

Monica:

I’m not looking at the fact we lost an icon. I lost a friend. I lost somebody that experienced some things that even that I had not, and she was very open with me and very real about some of the things I needed to do to kind of get myself back on track. So it was hard spending days with her. I’m thankful for the days that we spent but to lose somebody so suddenly… We go to the eighth floor, and you go to the fourth, and we never see you again… That’s not easy man; we’re human and we’re still trying to figure it out. We’re trying to deal with it together and I think it brought us even closer because we’re still two separate individuals and I think that brought about the realization it’s really time to come full circle.

Monica On being attacked by a stalker

I opened the door and there she came. She was like humongous, tall and very big. She was in the dressing room. We walked into the venue and I opened the door.

The point is sometimes the way I kick it, is not the safest thing for me. I like being by myself. I like doing my own thing sometimes. Taking my kids to do fun things-–I do a lot of things by myself. When it comes to twitter, I had to realize that some things just don’t need a response because the truth don’t need support. It is what it is, so I had to accept the fact that it’s not like it used to be where you had real journalism and people cared enough to reach your people to see if something was true before they talked about it, responded to it or put it all over the world.

 Monica talks about twitter:

It’s unfortunate that you have people at home that don’t realize that this is just another way to make money off them. When you log on, you click, you entertain and correspond this just puts money in somebody’s pocket. It doesn’t put you closer to the artist because most of the stuff is not even true. Once I realized that most things don’t need a response, twitter has become a very fun thing for me. I really don’t care what’s being said. I talk about what’s real to me.

I agree with Monica comments about twitter.  People get so caught up with the entertainers on twitter, and forget they are their to make money.

Vivica A. Fox Glams It Up In DENIM Magazine

Vivica A. Fox look very beautiful and gave a little advice to her "19 year old self"

DENIM: If you could back in time, what advice would you give to the 19 year old Vivica breaking into the business?

VIVICA: Study your craft. If you want to be an actress-know that it is a craft and you have to know what you are doing. There's going to be a lot of rejection. You have to have a strong belief in yourself and become a triple threat. Learn to sing, dance, and act-you never know what roles will be required of you.

DENIM: What drives you as an actress and woman?

VIVICA: Taking advantage of all the opportunities and blessings. I find that the key to longevity is versatility - especially for my career. I have my own hair line, I produce film, television, and host events. I try to be versatile and do a lot of things; that way it keeps me busy.

Oprah Interviews Bobbi Kristina and Houston Family

Oprah interviewed Bobbi Kristina, Whitney Houston's brother Gary and his wife Pat.  Pat was also Whitney Houston's mmanager and confidant.  I was humbled by listening to Bobby Kristina and the strength she showed.  Pat spoke softly and calmly.  However, it was apparent she loved Whitney Houston as if it was her own sister.  I was moved when she said Whitney was looking for love in all the wrong placed.  I know many women are guilty of it.  Gary spoke briefly about the love he had for his sister and their mother.

You can see part of the video here:

Lil Wayne Covers CCS Skateboard Magazine

Get More: Music News

Wayne shot his cover story for CCS in Canoga Park, California, on Saturday, and his videographer DJ Scoob Doo captured intimate moments on the set as he bonded with skateboard stars Paul Rodriguez, Shane O'Neill, Torey Pudwill, Theotis Beasley and Chance Eldridge. In the rare footage, Wayne gives his fans a closer look at the new environment that he's become very comfortable in. "I just want to introduce my world to their world," Wayne says as he individually acquaints us with each of the skateboarders mentioned above. "I'm trying to bring you into their world so you can see why I wanna do this and I why I love this so much."

DJ Scoob Doo hopes that the clip will help Wayne's fans understand how deeply his passion for skateboarding runs. "Wayne is on the cover of this magazine with professional skateboarders because he's taken it so seriously," Scoob said. "They were so happy to have him associated with it because he's bringing light to the skateboard world and because he's genuinely taken a liking to skateboarding.
"These professional skateboarders are not looking at him as an 'artist' — they're looking at him as one of their own. They see the dedication that he's given to it, and they see that he's not taking it lightly," he added
In addition to Lil Wayne's cover story in the May issue of CCS, the magazine will also feature an extended spread of his new Trukfit skateboard clothing line, which debuted in January. Trukfit is available for purchase on the CCS website.

Consider this your official introduction to Wayne's world of skateboarding. "The same way the skateboarders are introducing Lil Wayne to their world, he found an opportunity to introduce his world to them," Scoob said.

Well there you have it!  He loves his skateboard
